Aspinal of London: A Night at the Theatre
Aspinal of London brought theatrical glamour to London Fashion Week with a collection inspired by the golden age of the theatre. Presented at Claridge’s, the setting of red velvet, rich interiors and old-world elegance provided the perfect backdrop for a collection centred around beautifully crafted leather goods.
Theatrical Glamour
The collection reimagined Aspinal’s established designs through a more dramatic lens. Rich berry and scarlet reds, navy, gold, tan, ivory and black created a luxurious palette, while plush materials and polished leather reflected the opulence of the theatre. Classic silhouettes were joined by new designs including the elegant Editor’s Clutch, structured Islington rucksacks and the Chelsea Bag, while miniature versions of familiar styles introduced a playful element. Leopard and snakeskin prints added a more daring edge to the refined aesthetic.
Craftsmanship and Detail
The collection was particularly strong in its decorative details. The Mayfair Bag was reimagined through a Hand & Lock collaboration featuring intricate poppy and butterfly embroidery, while selected Pegasus pieces were embellished with 23-carat gold dust and Swarovski detailing. The Pegasus motif became one of the collection’s signatures, appearing across shoulder bags, top-handle designs and more youthful rucksack shapes. It brought a sense of fantasy to an otherwise sophisticated collection.
CARRO Studio Behind the Lens
For CARRO Studio, the Aspinal presentation offered an opportunity to capture fashion through detail and atmosphere. The photographs document the polished finish of the accessories alongside the theatrical surroundings, showing how presentation, craftsmanship and styling combine to create a complete fashion experience. There is something particularly suited to photography in Aspinal’s approach: the gleam of leather, the richness of colour, the precision of hardware and the intricate embellishment all become part of the visual story. Aspinal of London’s collection demonstrated how heritage accessories can be given a fresh sense of personality. Traditional craftsmanship remained at the heart of the brand, but theatrical references, bold prints and decorative details introduced a more expressive side. Through the CARRO Studio lens, the collection becomes a visual celebration of British luxury; elegant, polished and unmistakably theatricaL.
