Backstage at Asli Polat reveals the quieter, more intimate side of fashion — the moments of preparation before the models step into the spotlight.
CARRO’s photographs capture makeup artists working carefully, hair being styled and garments being fitted moments before the show. From the delicate embroidered dress being adjusted to the striking black-and-white beauty portraits, the images highlight the craftsmanship and concentration that happen away from the catwalk.
There is a natural sense of movement backstage: clothes hanging on rails, stylists making final adjustments and models waiting patiently as each look comes together. The contrast between the monochrome photographs and the vivid red beanie in one of the colour images adds to the visual character of the story.
Rather than presenting fashion as a finished spectacle, CARRO’s Asli Polat Backstage series documents the process; the people, details and fleeting moments that bring a collection to life.
