Tiger of Sweden: Tailoring with a Relaxed Attitude

Tiger of Sweden has always had a distinctive approach to tailoring. Founded in Stockholm, the brand built its reputation by taking the traditional suit and giving it a sharper, more contemporary attitude, creating clothes that feel equally at home in the city, at work or after dark. For London Collections Men, Tiger of Sweden presented a collection that took that philosophy in a new direction. CARRO was there behind the lens to capture the collection, documenting a fresh interpretation of the Tiger of Sweden man and a wardrobe that traded some of the brand’s familiar slimness for something looser, softer and more effortless.

From sharp tailoring to relaxed proportions

The most striking element of the collection was its change of silhouette. Tiger of Sweden had become known for its precise, super-slim tailoring, but here the proportions were deliberately relaxed. Trousers became wider and more fluid, moving from softly tapered shapes to broader legs, while jackets retained the sharpness and structure that remain central to the brand.

The contrast created an interesting balance.

Single- and double-breasted jackets retained their clean, sophisticated lines, while wider trousers gave the tailoring a more relaxed, confident feel. The clothes looked less concerned with conventional office dressing and more suited to a man moving effortlessly between different parts of his day.

A lighter side of Tiger

The colour palette reinforced the change in mood. Soft shades of cream, dusty blue and Chantilly white gave the collection a distinctly summery character, with black, grey and stripes adding contrast. The lighter tones brought a sense of ease to the tailoring, while keeping the clothes sophisticated and unmistakably Tiger of Sweden. The collection also introduced pieces that blurred the line between tailoring and casual wear.  A relaxed, elongated shawl-collar blazer, a sharp denim two-piece and a technical nylon parka demonstrated how the traditional suit could be reinterpreted for a more informal wardrobe. The parka, in particular, was designed to be worn with suit trousers in place of a conventional jacket; an understated but clever way of breaking up traditional tailoring.

The modern Tiger of Sweden man

Styling played an important part in defining the collection. Wide-brimmed Panama hats, simple T-shirts and lightweight knitwear were layered beneath wide-lapelled jackets, while loafers appeared throughout the looks. These details gave the collection an off-duty quality, taking the formality out of tailoring without losing its sophistication. There was a feeling of escape running through the collection, a move away from the conventional city suit towards something more relaxed and Mediterranean. The inspiration was reflected in the attitude of the clothes. The models appeared less restricted by the structure of traditional tailoring, with wider trousers, softer materials and more relaxed styling creating a sense of movement and freedom.

Stripes, denim and understated confidence

Among the strongest visual elements were the stripes and tonal combinations.

Bold striped tailoring brought graphic interest to the collection, while denim introduced a more casual edge. White and pale-toned suits provided some of the cleanest looks, contrasting with darker stripes and distressed denim. Contemporary coverage of the collection also highlighted the combination of relaxed suiting, denim and eveningwear. The result was a wardrobe that felt versatile rather than overly styled. There was enough structure for the clothes to remain recognisably tailored, but enough looseness to give them a contemporary attitude.

CARRO behind the lens

For CARRO, the collection provided an opportunity to capture Tiger of Sweden at an interesting point in its evolution. The photographs reveal the contrast between the brand’s precise tailoring and its new, more relaxed proportions. Wide trousers, sharp jackets, understated colour and carefully considered accessories combine to create a collection that feels both sophisticated and effortless. The Old Sorting Office setting added another dimension to the presentation. The industrial surroundings provided a striking contrast to the pale tailoring and refined silhouettes, while lighting and sound helped create an energetic atmosphere around the clothes. CARRO’s photographs preserve those details, from the cut of the jackets and movement of the trousers to the styling choices that helped define the collection.

A different cut

Tiger of Sweden’s philosophy has long been summed up by its phrase “A Different Cut.” This collection demonstrated exactly what that means. Rather than abandoning the tailoring that established the brand, Tiger of Sweden loosened it, softened it and introduced a more relaxed attitude. The result was modern menswear that retained its precision while allowing the wearer considerably more freedom.

Through CARRO’s photographs, the collection remains a snapshot of that evolution: sharp tailoring, relaxed proportions and a distinctly Scandinavian approach to modern British menswear.
